Latest News Update On 03 September 2022: The Bureau of Indian Standards seized jewelery worth ten lakh rupees during a raid on a jewelery shop in Premnagar area. This store is accused of selling hallmark jewelery without a license.
Neelam Singh, Deputy Director (Scientist-C) of the Bureau of Standards said that the complaint of Mahalaxmi Jewelers of Premnagar was being received for a long time. In this sequence, the team raided here on Friday. The shop owner could not show the license even though hallmarked jewelery was being sold here. During this 225 grams of gold jewelery hallmark was found. After this, the jewelery was seized while taking action, 10 grams of jewelery was kept as evidence. He said that the jewelers are being monitored by the Bureau of Standards.
