Two (2) engineers arrested for taking bribe in Darbhanga Bihar latest news update 2023
Latest News Updated 21 April 2023: An 11-member team of Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Patna, on Thursday arrested Executive Engineer Sanjeev Kumar and Assistant Engineer Anil Kumar Jaiswal of Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited while accepting bribe of Rs one lakh each from Bihar Shiksha Pariyojana Bhavan. The team has arrested him and taken him to Patna. Both will be produced before court on the Friday.
Eyewitnesses said that sitting in a Scorpio parked in the parking lot in the Shiksha Bhavan premises, both the engineers were taking bribe amount from the complainant. At the same time the surveillance team nabbed them. Monitoring DSP Arunoday Pandey, who is leading the team, said that the complainant Rajesh Kumar had accused the engineers of demanding a bribe of one lakh rupees each for paying the bill for the repair of the building and hostel in Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University.
The allegation was found to be true. The DSP said that an FIR was lodged in the monitoring station on 19 April in the matter. As soon as both the engineers took bribe from the complainant Rajesh on Thursday, they were arrested on the spot.
