Verdict: Congress President's election on 17 October 2022Latest News Update On 29 August 2022: The election for the post of Congress President will be held on 17 October. The Congress Working Committee (CWC) chaired by party president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday approved the election schedule for the post of president. Almost all the members including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel and Madhusudan Mistry were present in the CWC meeting held through video conferencing.
The last election for the Congress president was held in December 2017, in which Rahul Gandhi alone filed his nomination. The notification will be released on 22nd September. The nomination process will run from 24 September to 30 September.
