Latest News Update On 15 October 2022: Four people, including a doctor and an engineer, were killed in a horrific accident on the Purvanchal Expressway on Friday evening. The accident happened when the container and the BMW car collided. During the accident, the container badly trampled the car. Due to this the engine of the car and the four people fell away. 1 person's head was severed from the body.
Expressing deep sorrow over the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured. Three people who lost their lives in the accident were from Bihar. Everyone was returning from Delhi. One has not been identified. The container driver fled the spot.
The accident happened at km 83.750 of Haliapur police station area. After heavy rain on Thursday, a five feet deep and 15 feet wide crater had formed near Milestone Km 83 of Purvanchal Express. During this, a car had gone into the ditch and half a dozen vehicles were damaged. Due to this the expressway was made one-way. According to eyewitnesses, the car was coming at high speed from Lucknow side at 353 pm on Friday. Suddenly the container came from the front and collided with it.
