Latest News Update On 30 August 2022: Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) group, will invest Rs 2 lakh crore on the development of 5G network. 5G services will be started in major cities by Diwali this year.
The announcement was made by RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the group's 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Monday. He said that Jio will start offering 5G services across the country by the end of next year. Two lakh crore rupees will be invested for setting up 5G network across the country. Within two months, Jio 5G will be launched in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. He said that Jio has set up fiber optic network across the country. By December 2023, Jio's 5G services will be started in every town & tehsil of the country. People will achieve great benefit from this. Mukesh Ambani said, India is currently ranked 138th in the world in terms of fixed broadband adoption.
