Latest News Update On 14 October 2022: The state government has announced to start paddy procurement for the Kharif marketing year 2022-23. For this, farmers can apply directly by visiting the website of the Department of Agriculture or Cooperation.

• Procurement will be done by March 31, target of buying 45 lakh metric tonnes
• Ordinary paddy 2040 and Grade-A paddy 2060 per quintal will be purchased
• Farmers will be able to apply directly on the website of Agriculture or Cooperation Department

This time the minimum support price for grade-A paddy has been fixed at Rs 2060 and for ordinary paddy, the minimum support price has been fixed at Rs 2040 per quintal. Like last year, this time too 45 lakh metric tonnes of paddy and 20 lakh metric tonnes of rice are targeted to be procured. Paddy procurement will start from November 1 in all districts of North Bihar and November 15 in all districts of South Bihar. Paddy procurement will be done by 31 March 2023. This time also, the purchase will be done only through PACS and Vyapar Mandals. The amount of paddy procurement will be sent directly to the accounts of the farmers.
