This has created tension in the area. Additional forces have been deployed to provide security to the family. Political parties have condemned the incident.
According to the police, Puran Krishna Bhat had left his house in the Chaudhary Gund area of Shopian towards the apple orchard. On the way at 11 in the morning, the terrorists opened fire on them. After that Pooran was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Shopian Deputy Commissioner Sachin Vaish said that Puran's last rites would be held in Jammu under the supervision of the administration. The DIG said that the terrorist organization Kashmir Freedom Fighter (KFF) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Here, other political parties including National Conference, CPI(M), BJP have condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the terrorists.
