Latest News Update On 09 November 2022: An uncontrollable pickup vehicle caught the bike riders near Tikar village of Chatra Sadar police station area. Due to this, Pappu Bharti of Dahuri village, riding a bike, died on the spot, while two were injured.
After the incident, a large number of people gathered and caught and thrashed the driver of the pickup vehicle. Angry people manhandled the ASI who reached the spot and tore his uniform. ASI Shashikant Thakur has also received injuries in this. People alleged that the police wanted to save the culprits. After giving first aid to the injured at Chatra Sadar Hospital, doctors referred them to RIMS, Ranchi.
Police said that three youths were coming to Chatra on a bike. From here these three were going to Chennai to work. In this sequence, an uncontrollable pickup vehicle coming from the opposite direction near Tikar village caught him. After this, the angry villagers caught hold of the driver of the van and beat him up. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and rescued the driver of the pickup vehicle from the clutches of the beating people and brought them to the Sadar police station. After this, when the police went to bring the pickup vehicle from the spot, the villagers became very furious and surrounded the police. Then, accusing the driver of driving away, started a scuffle with the ASI. The uniform of the ASI was also torn. Seeing the urgency of the spot, the police somehow came back to the police station. Later the officers reached there again and brought the vehicle to the police station.
A large number of police officials and jawans, including SDPO Avinash Kumar, Sadar police station in-charge Manohar Karmali, reached the spot and brought the crashed pickup vehicle.
