People going to the airshow will not be allowed entry with cameras and bags. People carrying goods are not being allowed to sit in pickup buses.


President's security will be tightened

In view of the security of the President, a total of 4000 policemen are deployed. Apart from this, 12 CRPF units have also been deployed.


Yatra on Maha Samadhi Day postponed

The President is coming to Chandigarh today due to the air show. Due to this the Shri Sai Palki Pad Shobha Yatra to be organized on the occasion of Maha Samadhi Day of Sai Baba has been postponed.

Subhash Kumar, manager of Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir Sector 29, said that the Chandigarh administration did not allow this. Now Shri Sai Palki Shobha Padyatra will be organized on 19th November.

Bad weather raised doubts

The weather is bad in Chandigarh right now. It is cloudy, due to which the performance of many aircraft, including aerobatics, at the air show remains in doubt.


Govt approved the creation of Weapon Systems Wing

Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Choudhary which is Chief of the Air Staff, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Air Force in Chandigarh, said that on this historic occasion, I am happy to announce that the Govt has decided to create a Weapon Systems Wing for officers in the Indian Air Force. Permission has been granted.


Today normal CTU service will be closed

On Saturday from 10.30 am to 8.00 pm (time duration), the CTU bus service in the tricity will remain closed as all these buses will be busy in plying the air shows. These buses will began the work of dropping people from their pickup point to Sukhna Lake from 11 am onwards, so CTU buses will not ply in the city like normal days. Apart from this, many more CTU buses will also not run for long routes.


Department's forecast raised concern

The department's forecast has raised everyone's concerns. If this happens, it will be the 2nd time that the air show has been interrupted due to this weather. Earlier, on 22 September 2021, to commemorate the Golden Victory Day of the 1971 war, the air show conducted by the Air Force on Sukhna was disturbed. On Friday also it was cloudy in the morning but the weather cleared in the noon time. During this, the maximum temperature was recorded at 30.8 degrees & the minimum temperature was 22.8 degrees.


Forecast of rain, people's concern increased with the admin

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in the city on Saturday that means today. Chandigarh Meteorological Center Director Manmohan Singh said that the weather has taken a turn, due to which there may be rain on Saturday (8 October). He said it might rain before afternoon. According to the bulletin of the department, the maximum temperature on Saturday is likely to be 27 degrees & the minimum temperature is 23 degrees.


Indian Air Force's new combat uniform will be launched

The Chief of the Air Staff will also launch the new pattern of combat uniform of the Air Force on this event. More than Eighty (80) aircraft will take part in the air show on Sukhna Lake which will run from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. In this, fighter aircraft including Rafale, Chinook, Tejas, Jaguar, MiG-29 & Mirage-2000 will thrill and enthuse the people with their acrobatics.


3 prachandas will also take part

For the 1st time, the Air Force will leave the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad and organize an air show at Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh & the second coincidence is that the indigenously built Light Combat Helicopter Prachanda will attend the air show for the 1st time. Three prachandas will take part in the air show & will make them feel their power.


City declared no flying zone for 2 days

In view of the security of the President, a total of 4000 policemen will be posted on Saturday. Apart from this, 12 CRPF units will also be posted. The President will also be in the city during Sunday. In such a condition, DC Vinay Pratap Singh has declared the city as no flying zone for both the days. At the same time, CCTV cameras have been installed in the areas around Sukhna Lake. A total of 30 policemen nakas will be set up around the lake. The UT administration has also called some officials from Punjab and Haryana so that the system can be handled easily.

The administration has now completed the preparations. Tight security arrangements have been made in view of the arrival of the President & the Defense Minister. The area around Sukhna Lake & the UT Secretariat located in Sector-9 has been sealed a day earlier. The road leading to the Housing Board office in the Sector-9 has been closed. The front parking has also been vacated & police have been deployed there.
