Latest News Update On 31 October 2022: This time the urban body elections in the state are set to be conducted in four phases in December. According to sources in the State Election Commission, the counting of votes for these elections will be held in the first week of January.
The last time these elections were held in November 2017 in four phases and counting of votes took place on December 2. This time the elections have to be completed by the first fortnight of January. According to officials, since this time the revision program of the voter list for the civic elections will run from November 1 to 18 and the final voter list will be published on 18 November.

Apart from this, the process of delimitation, reservation of wards is yet to be completed by the Directorate of Urban Bodies. Therefore, the civic elections will be held only in December. The existing voter list will be published on October 31 as per the schedule fixed by the commission. Voters will be able to see their name and other details in this existing voter list from 1st to 7th November. Between November 8 and 12, you will be able to file your claims and objections. Claims and objections will be settled between November 14 and 17. The final prepared voter list will be published on November 18. The State Election Commissioner has said that the District Election Officer (Panchayat and Urban Bodies), Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer will publicize the revision program of the voter list of the urban bodies under their jurisdiction. This program will also be displayed on the notice boards of all the concerned offices. Voters can also apply for inclusion of their names on the website of State Election Commission http://sec.up.nic.in from 1st to 4th November.
