SNMMCH Dhanbad: Ultrasonography service stopped latest news update 2022
Latest News Update On 11 October 2022: Ultrasonography has stopped in SNMMCH from Monday. That too indefinitely. Sajiya Naaz, the only radiologist working here, has gone on a long leave. He is on educational leave since Monday. There is no other radiologist in the 500-bed Medical College Hospital.
Ultrasonography has stopped with Naaz's passing. The government has not made arrangements for other radiologists, due to which the patients are suffering. This situation often arises in the Radiology Department of SNMMCH. Ultrasonography is closed here for four months due to the absence of a doctor. Dr Naaz had come here in December-2019. Since then patients are getting ultrasonography. Patients who came for ultrasonography were returned on Monday. Ultrasonography is closed for several months due to lack of doctors in the health map operated on PPP mode in SNMMCH. There is no other option left but to go to the private centre.
More than 50 returned patients In the Radiology Department of SNMMCH, on an average, 40 to 45 patients were ultrasonography every day. The maximum rush of patients occurs on Mondays. On this day the figure used to reach 50-55. The Medical College Hospital has the least crowd on Saturdays. Despite this, 31 patients were ultrasonography done on Saturday, including 14 indoor and 17 OPD patients. On Monday also more than 50 patients arrived for ultrasonography, who were returned.
Instead of 100, the cost of Rs 1200 is done free of cost in the Radiology Center of SNMMCH and ultrasonography is done for only Rs 100 for OPD patients. One thousand to 12 hundred rupees are taken in private centers. It is difficult to spend so much money for poor patients. Under the government agreement, Health Map used to do ultrasonography for three to four hundred rupees, it is currently closed.
Dr. Anil Kumar says that there was only one radiologist here, who went on educational leave. For this reason, ultrasonography of patients is not being done. The hospital management is aware of the situation.
