Deputy Chief Engineer of Railway arrested for taking 50 thousand bribe in Lucknow Charbagh latest news update 2022
Latest News Updated 03 December 2022: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested Arun Kumar Mittal, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction) of Northern Railway Lucknow red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. In the search of Mittal's other places including Delhi and Lucknow, about Rs 38 lakh in cash and documents of other properties have been recovered.
On remand for five days
On the complaint of Sunil Kumar Srivastava, Proprietor of M/s Siddhakavya Enterprises, the Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI Lucknow had registered a case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. In this, the complainant had alleged that Arun Kumar Mittal, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction), Northern Railway, Lucknow, was demanding a bribe in lieu of passing the bill of his firm engaged in project work in Charbagh (Lucknow). After his arrest, Mittal was produced before the competent court in Lucknow. CBI teams are busy in examining the documents.
