Mahadev was arrested from his maternal uncle's house in Nirsa. He was interrogated for two hours at Kumardhubi OP.

During interrogation, Mahadev also mentioned the names of some of his associates, but the police did not disclose them either. Said that only when the accused are caught, information will be given. Local people told that Mahadev had nothing two-three years ago. But recently he got a lot of money. He also built a luxurious house with amenities in Ravidas Tola. Mahadev's mother and his wife reached Kumardhubi OP with the child in their lap. He pleaded for her to be released as innocent. Said that he has been implicated, but the police ignored both of them.
