Jharkhand Dhanbad: There will be 20% deductions from the pension of former civil surgeon for seven years latest news update 2022
Latest News Update 12 November 2022: The pension of Dr Gopal Das, former Civil Surgeon (now retired) of Dhanbad, will be deducted by 20 per cent every month for seven consecutive years. The department has taken this action in the death case of Soni Kumari, wife of Bablu Singh, a resident of Dugda, Bokaro. In the case of Soni's death, Dr Das is accused of making a false investigation report and giving him a clean chit by hiding evidence in favor of Chakraborty Nursing Home. The department has issued its order. According to officials, Dr. Das gets a pension of about 90 thousand rupees. After this order, about 18 thousand rupees will be deducted from the total amount of pension. Dr. Das is paid pension in Hazaribagh.
This is the case Bablu Singh's wife Soni Kumari was admitted to Chakraborty Nursing Home in Dhanbad. He was referred to BGH Bokaro on 11 June 2019 after his health deteriorated during treatment here. He was referred from BGH to Ranchi Medica on June 12. Soni died in Medica on 24 June 2019. Soni's husband Bablu Singh alleges that his wife died due to negligence during treatment at Chakraborty Nursing Home. Regarding this, along with the evidence provided by Medica, a written complaint was made to the then Civil Surgeon Dhanbad Dr. Gopal Das.

It is alleged that Dr Das investigated the matter and gave a clean chit to Chakraborty Nursing Home ignoring the evidence provided by Bablu Singh. On the complaint of Bablu, the then ADM (Law and Order) on behalf of the administration investigated the matter. In this investigation the report of the Civil Surgeon was upheld. After this, the matter was investigated twice by the state level team. This team had also rejected the investigation of the Civil Surgeon. After this, the department has directed to deduct 20 percent amount every month for seven years from his pension. The then Civil Surgeon of Dhanbad, Dr. Gopal Das was transferred to Hazaribagh with promotion. He was working as Regional Deputy Director Health Services, North Chotanagpur in Hazaribagh.
