Latest News Update 11 November 2022: Aadhaar number will now have to be updated at least once every ten years. Identity and Residence certificate will have to be shown for this. The Central Government has issued orders in this regard by amending the Aadhaar rules.

According to the gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Aadhaar card will have to be updated with the identity and residence certificate. This will keep the information up to date and ensure accuracy. Last month, the Unique Identification Authority of India asked people to update their identity and other documents if it has been more than 10 years since they got Aadhaar and have not updated relevant information.
Aadhar cards have been made for 135 crore people so far in the country
